Sir Winston Churchill ACI The Financial Markets Association The ACI is the largest trade association in the global financial markets with over 13,000 members in 60 countries. Qualification Successful candidates will receive the internationally accredited ACI Dealing Certificate. This qualification is compulsory in many centres for wholesale foreign exchange and money market practitioners. N.B. Candidates who attend our workshops receive a majority of Distinction and Merit passes, and references are available upon request. Supervisors Terence Murphy Terence spent thirty years in the various business functions of the financial markets, working for South African and international banks in Johannesburg, London and Frankfurt. His exposure to various aspects of financial markets include: foreign trade, cash management, foreign currency trading, global markets sales, and treasury operations. Peter Skerritt Peter has spent over twenty years in the financial markets as a derivatives trader, financial engineer, author, and trainer, with experience in Europe, The United States, The Middle East, and Africa. He has personally assisted ACI Education with a review of all of the ACI qualifications and has previously served on the International ACI Exam Appeals Committee. He is an active member of the ACI Trainers Contact Group, which has been establised by ACI Education to ensure feedback from the training community is assimilated into key decision making, which currently includes the development of new syllabi. Eligibility Candidates for this qualification do not have to be existing members of the ACI, although membership is encouraged; details are available at Candidates are welcome from both bank and non-bank entities. Pre-course Preparation Mandatory pre-course work is prescribed as follows: 1. Candidates are required to complete a pre-aci module before attending the workshop. This will require an estimated 8-10 hours of private study. Upon completion of this module, candidates are required to complete an online test for assessment and feedback. 2. Candidates are also required to read the Model Code before the workshop commences. This will require an estimated 2-3 hours of private study. N.B. Candidates who are unable to complete the pre-course preparation should not attend the workshop. Workshop Outline & Programme In line with the Dealing Certificate syllabus prescribed by the ACI Education Committee, the workshop covers the topics as laid out in Appendix 1. Please see Appendix 2 for the workshop programme. Workshop Methods The candidates receive a series of interactive lectures in the relevant areas, which are followed by practical exercises to ensure that the learning objectives have been achieved. Post-Workshop Exam Preparation Following the workshop and appropriate revision, the candidates will be required to complete a test covering each of the syllabus topics using our Online Testing system. This can be completed at each candidate s convenience, and detailed results and feedback are immediately provided. Following successful completion of the topic tests, the candidates are required to write a Revision Exam and two full Mock Exams online, which have been designed to closely reflect the real ACI exam. Exam and Registration The exam comprises 90 multi-choice questions with a 2-hour time limit, and is taken at a Prometric testing centre, of which there are several in South Africa, and in most major cities around the world. Peter Skerritt & Associates will assist candidates in contacting their local Prometric centre. The exam should ideally be taken within 2-8 weeks after the workshop, depending on prior knowledge and work commitments. Cost The cost of the workshop per candidate is R 14,950 + VAT at 14%. The cost of the workshop includes all materials and refreshments. It does not include the ACI exam fee, which is currently EUR 250.
