2015 Hua Yen Symposium on Buddhism Buddhism originated in India, and vastly developed in China. Today Buddhist studies have become a topic of common interest around the world. Avatamsaka Buddhist Lotus Society of Milpitas, California will organize an annual symposium on Buddhism. These symposia provide a platform for scholars around the world to present their work and share their knowledge with the interested public, thus furthering the Society’s goal of cultivating and promoting the Buddhist philosophy and studies. In this year ’s symposium, Chinese and American scholars are invited to present lectures. As future perspectives get sharpened by examining the past, the Society strives to create a new realm in Buddhist education through presentations, panel discussions and thought stimulation by these international scholars.
