Landscape Drawing for Adults Saturdays, 10:00 – 11:30am August 2nd - August 23rd, $20 ($15 members)
Learn to draw, or add to your skills! We will be working with charcoal and various other materials which will be provided. Sign up for one or both sessions!
Campfire Cooking 101
Saturday, September 6th, 5:30-7:30pm Ages 8 and up, $5 per person Enjoy some time around the campfire while learning techniques and recipes for campfire cooking. Create and sample several recipes and conclude the evening by creating your own campfire dessert.

Saturday, August 9th, 2:00 – 4:00pm All ages, $5 per person ($3 members) Discover the lost art of mud pie making while getting down and dirty with mud painting, mud sculpture, mud games, muddy obstacle course, and more! Then clean off by running through sprinklers or get hosed off by the fire department! Wear clothes that can get wet and dirty.
Cricket Crawl Campfire 22nd,
Friday, August 7:30 – 9:30pm Ages 5 and up, $2 per person
Join Rangers for a night hike and a sound census of the late summer crickets and katydids. Learn to identify different species of crickets by their calls, and catch a glimpse of moths and other nocturnal animals. After listening to the evening chorus, we’ll gather at the campfire and enjoy s’mores.
Fairies and Dragons 30th,
Saturday, August 2:00 – 4:00pm Ages 5 and up, $5 per person ($3 members) Come learn about the mysterious forest-dwellers of myth and legend. Then search the park for signs of dragons and the fair folk, and use natural materials in the woods to create a fairy house or dragon’s lair.
The Battle of Baltimore: The Homefront Saturday September 13th, 2:00-4:00pm Ages, 7 and up, $3 per person ($2 members)
Enlist to help the home front during the Battle of Baltimore! Learn about the battle, see a live fire demonstration of a historic weapon, and participate in a race against time to make black powder for the defenses on the front line.
Rangers will teach children the important outdoor skills every child should know: whistle with grass, build a miniature boat, go fishing, construct a shelter, build a fire, and much more!
Fall Campout
September 26th, 7:00pm – September 27th, 9:00am (Rain date: September 27th – September 28th) All ages, $5 per person ($3 members) Experience the forest night life with this family campout. Rangers will lead the group on a night hike and end the evening with a campfire. Bring dinner on Friday, or bring food to cook over the fire. Saturday breakfast will be provided. Bring your own tent, or call 410-887-4156 to rent one.
Intro to Geocaching
Looking for a fun, family-friendly way to exercise both mind and body? Try geocaching , the fastgrowing sport that’s akin to a modern-day treasure hunt. We’ll explain geocaching basics and find caches located right here in the park. When registering note if you will need to reserve one of the GPS units.
Serpentine Nature Quest Hike Nature Quest Canoe Trip
Sunday, September 28th, 10:00am – 1:00pm Ages 8 and up, free
Enjoy canoeing on the lake while searching for the Nature Quest marker. Call or email to reserve a canoe.
Hike on the back trails to the globally rare serpentine barrens and collect your serpentine Nature Quest rubbing along the way. See the last page or the park website for more information. Trail surface: packed dirt, with rocky incline. Difficulty: Moderate.

Mud Day
Fall Campfire
Mondays beginning Sept 22nd, 4:30 – 5:30pm Ages 4 – 8, $25 for all six sessions ($20 members)

Each week, we’ll be inspired by the adventures of famous fairytale heroines to find our own adventure in the park. Come explore with a ranger to discover streams, catch butterflies, identify flowers, and enjoy crafts, face painting, and more. Kids are welcome to dress up as their favorite character!
Bring your own canoe or kayak for a ranger-led paddle around Lake Roland. Explore the length of the lake looking for wildlife and learning about the history of Baltimore’s first public reservoir. All participants must wear a life jacket and those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Spend a fall night exploring the park and then gather around the fire for campfire activities, including apple s’mores!
Fall Tree and Plant Walk
Sunday, October 12th, 2:00 – 4:00pm Ages 8 and up, free Get lost in the colors of fall! Join a guided tour of the park looking at the many species of trees and plants found at Robert E. Lee.
School’s Out Days
Oct. 17th, Nov. 4th, or Dec. 29th Ages 6-12, $25 per child per day 8:30am-2:30pm, extended hours 2:30-4:30pm, $10 Looking for something fun for your child to do when school is out? Unplug the kids and let them spend the day at the park! Bring lunch, snack, and water.
Nature Quest Fest
October 18th, 10am-12pm All Ages, FREE with Quest completion Be sure to complete at least 5 trails in your Nature Quest booklet to receive admission to this exciting event. Activities will include canoeing, dam tours, live animals, and more! Pick up your booklet at Wegmans grocery store, ask a ranger for one, or download it at www.relpnc.org/nature-quest.
Zombie Horde Scavenger Hunt Friday, October 24st, 7:00 – 9:00pm Ages 12 & up, $10 per person ($7 members)
Try to escape the zombies as you collect items at stations along our trail. Candy for all participants, and prizes for the quickest “survivor!” Not for the faint of heart! Bring a flashlight and fast shoes!
Haunted Halloween Hike
Saturday, Oct. 25th, 6:30 – 8:30pm (Rain date: Oct. 26th) Ages 5-12, $7 per person ($5 members) Encounter witches, owls, snakes and others as you try to solve a Halloween mystery. Bring your flashlight and treat bag to this somewhat scary event. Costumes are welcome!
History Walk
Pioneer Days
Saturday, November 1st, 2:00 – 4:30pm Ages 8 and up, free
Saturday, November 22rd Or Sunday, November 23rd, 2:00 – 4:00pm Ages 6 and up, $5 per person ($3 members)
Learn about the history of the park which includes railroads, mining, wars and more. This two hour walk begins at the dam.
Come build miniature log cabins, create corn husk dolls, play colonial games and dip your own candles to learn how early American pioneers lived.

Wreath Making
Friday, November 14th, 6:30 – 8:30pm (rain date November 15th) Ages 5 and up, $3 per person ($2 members) Gather around the campfire to hear stories and learn about the art of storytelling. Feel free to bring a short story or instrument!
Habitat and Trail Team
Saturday, November 29th, 2:00 – 4:00pm Sunday, November 30th, 2:00 – 4:00pm Ages 14 and up, $10 per person ($8 members) Make a decorative wreath from natural materials such as pine, spruce, and holly. Inside the ranger station, we’ll have everything you need to make a masterpiece and brave the cold—including hot chocolate, cookies, and holiday tunes!

Friday Strolls
We have some of the best trails in Baltimore. Help us maintain them by spending a few hours with the Habitat and Trail Team as they repair trails, remove invasive plants, and more. Please wear closed-toe shoes & bring water.
Join us for some exercise while enjoying the sights and sounds of Robert E. Lee Park. The terrain is varied, but mostly flat with some hills.

FUN ● THE GREAT OUTDOORS ● PRIZES Have an adventure in your own backyard with Baltimore County Nature Quest. Pick up your Nature Quest Passport booklet at participating parks, online at relpnc.org/nature-quest, or at your local Wegmans grocery store. Passports will direct participants to hiking, biking, and canoeing opportunities at the County’s nature sites, where questers can record their visit in the Passport. Complete just five trails to earn prizes. See the park website or passport for more information.

The historical themed play area at Robert E. Lee Park is open sunrise to sunset. Children can jump on board the B & S railroad engine, dig in the mine, explore the Jones cabin, get tickets at Hollins Station and more. Be sure to check out the creative and fun activities below. During these times the water station and additional toys will be available, as well as the scheduled activities. Total:
