Answer : The Police to population ratio will be determined using this formula, to wit; Population divided by PNP Personnel strength equals to ratio Thus, 1,632,991 ÷ 1,890 = 864 Therefore, the police to population ratio is 1 PNP: 864 2. What is the percentage decrease in the crime volume from 2016 to 2017? Answer : The percentage decrease in crime volume between years 2016 and 2017 as per data available will be determined using this formula, to wit; Previous Crime Volume – Present Crime Volume = Variance Variance ÷ Previous CV x 100% Where the Crime Volume for year 2016 is 10,269 while 7576 for year 2017 Thus, 10,269 – 7576 = 2,693; 2,693 ÷ 10,269 = 0.2622 x 100% = 26.22% Therefore, the percentage decrease of crime volume between years 2017 and 2016 is 26.22% 3. What is the percentage of the above recorded crime distribution in the two comparative years? While in 2016, the Non Index Crime Rate is 7,652 and in year 2017 the Non Index Crime is 5,988. Thus, 7,652 – 5,988 = 1664 1,664 ÷ 7,652 = 0.2174 x 100% = 21.74% Therefore, there is decrease of 21.74% in Non Index Crime of 2017 as compared to year 2016 4. Answer : The crime solution efficiency of Davao City Police Office will be determined using this formula, to wit; Formula: Crime Solution Efficiency ( CSE ) = Total Crime Solve ( CS ) x 100% Total Crime Volume ( CV ) WHERE: Crime Solve for 2016 is 10,000 while; Crime volume for 2016 is 10,269 Thus, CSE = 10,000 x 100% 10,269 = 0.9738 x 100% = 97.38% Crime Solve for 2017 is 7,500 while; Crime Volume for 2017 is 7,576 Thus, CSE = 7,500 x 100% 7,576 = 0.9899 x 100% = 98.99 % Thus, the variance is (98.99% - 97.38%) 1.61%. Therefore, there is an increase of 1.61% in Crime Solution Efficiency in year 2017 as compared to year 2016. 5. Based on the findings, correlate the crime rate with the police to population ratio? Answer: Based on the findings, the police to population ratio of Davao City Police Office is EFFECTIVE as crime prevention and crime solution strategy considering that the crime volume of year 2016 decreases by 26.22% as compared to the crime volume of 2017. Further, it was also shown that the crime solution efficiency of year 2017 increases by 1.61% as compared to year 2016.
