Excel Foundry &Machine has no affiliation with the OEM. These terms are used for identification purposes only and are not intended to indicate Excel maintains a master gear set for each size of gear we make, ensuring that our tooth contact patterns are correct and consistent  year after year. OEM manufacturers do not go to this trouble and expense, putting reliability at the customer’s risk. • Metso® • Allis Chalmers® • Nordberg® ® ® • Svedala® ® • HP  /MP  /GP • Gyradisc® •  Symons ® • Telsmith® • Sandvik® •  Cedarapids® •  Omnicone® • Gyratory Models Excel Uses the Latest Technology It’s All About the Contact Pattern From straight bevel teeth to spiral bevel teeth, Excel offers direct replacement gearing that exceeds OEM quality, starting with the highest quality steel forgings. Our gear “gasher” mill at the beginning of the process and the gear checking center at the end of the process help ensure that Excel delivers high quality gears and pinions efficiently and consistently. The contact pattern is the single most important factor  to control when manufacturing crusher gears. Without good contact tooth-to-tooth, the load transfer can point-load the tooth face and result in premature or uneven wear or tooth breakage. Poor contact also creates excessive noise. The load must be distributed properly on the tooth face, and Excel rigorously assures  this condition is met through contact-testing with our master gears. Incorrect Contact Straight Tooth Correct Contact Skew Tooth Master Gears and Bluing Process Spiral Tooth Coniflex Tooth We ensure field performance and wear life when it comes to gear manufacturing by retaining a high quality set of “master gears” to be used in the production process. Each gear or pinion made is contact-tested against the master and must meet the precise specifications of the gear’s contact criteria. Simply put,  the benefit to our customer is consistency. Whether  the gear is made now or five years from now, it will be consistent because it is checked against the same master gear. Precision Equals Peace of Mind Engineering & Quality Control Excel has the quality assurance programs, gear manufacturing equipment, and expertise to ensure  that our gears are made consistently, and of the highest quality in our industry. All gears and pinions are contact-tested against a master, and each piece is inspected 100%. Our manufacturing technology and expertise enables  the customer to rest assured that the high quality gears and pinions supplied by Excel will have optimal field performance and wear life. This translates to lower operational stresses placed on the crusher’s gearing and adjacent components and maximum operational uptime for the customer’s application.
