Details on page 4.   Medicare changes have  been made:  Your current Medicare Drug Plan may not be accepted at yourpharmacy in 2011. Read about changes on page 2.  Medicare Advantage Plans have left 29 counties in Colorado -Do you live there? See page 4 for a complete list. Some doctors offices and hospitals no longer take Humanaand some other Medicare Advantage Plans  Will this affect you? See page 4. Get signed up for Bridging the Gap in 2011 without a hitch  The checklist on the back page of this newsletter can help  THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW 2011 If you received a $250 check from Medicare in 2010, and did not forward it to BTGC, you will have to pay this amount to BTGC before being enrolled in BTGC for 2011. APPLY FOR EXTRA HELP   When BTGC enrollees receive Extra Help from the federal government, BTGChas to pay little or no premium, a low deductible, no gap and low co-paymentsfor their prescriptions. Please consider applying for Extra Help if you think youmay qualify. The income limits for 2010 are $1,354 per month or $16,245 annu-ally for single persons, and $1,821 per month or $21,855 annually for couples.The asset/resource limits for 2010 are $12,510 for single persons and $25,010for couples. Call1-800-772-1213to check your status and for more information.BTGC may require you to apply for Extra Help if it looks like you may quality. CHOOSE A PLAN THAT MATCHES YOUR NEED   Sometimes BTGC members choose higher cost plans when lower cost planswould meet their needs just as well. More expensive doesn’t always mean better!Help BTGC by considering the prescription drug plans highlighted in green onthe page 3. These plans have low or no monthly premiums. Please consider them as you choose your plan for 2011!  Do You Live in One of these Colorado Counties?University Hospital drops Humana In 2011, residents of these counties will not have access to any Medicare Advantageplans. Only the Rocky Mountain Health Plans Cost Plans will provide health and  prescription drug coverage in these counties. If you are affected by this change, you can move back toregular Medicare and choose a Medicare Part D Plan. Theremay be other options, as well. We recommend you speakwith a Senior Health Insurance Program Counselor at 1-888-696-7213 for more information.You are allowed to join a Medicare Advantage Plan withPrescription Drugs that costs more than $80 a month, butyou will have to pay the difference to the plan yourself.BTGC will not pay for dental and vision plan add-ons topremiums, however. Many people choose aMedicare Advantage Plan ifthey expect to have a lot ofmedical expenses. Mosthave an annual out ofpocket maximum. They also do not accept AARP’sSecure Horizon products.Denver Health does not accept several Medicare health plans.Before you enroll in a plan for 2011, make sure your doctor andpharmacy will accept it.
