His parent’s names are Sandra and Edward. His sister’s names are Lynne and Joanne. As soon as David could walk his father gave him a soccer ball to kick around. By the age of 8 David had already scored 100 goals for his childhood team. His child hood team was the Ridgeway Rovers. David’s dream when he was a child was to become a famous soccer player. When David was 12 He went to Bobby Carlton soccer school. When David was 16 he signed forms with Manchester United to play on their junior team. As a teenager David was very small. Some of his soccer coaches thought he was too small to play soccer. This is what David Beckham looked like when he was a kid. He was very good at soccer when he was a kid. Different Teams He Was on For most of his career David Beckham Played on Manchester United. In the 1996-1997 season Manchester United won the FA (Football Association) League cup. David was also England’s national team captain for 6 years. David was also on Real Madrid. In 2007 He announced that he was going to leave Real Madrid go to the LA Galaxy. Manchester united was the first team David Beckham was on in professional soccer. There are a lot of great players on Man. U. David Beckham was captain for 6 years and he won the world cup on England’s national soccer team. Beckham came to America to join the LA Galaxy. Now he is still on the LA Galaxy. David Beckham was also on Real Madrid for a while. This is there logo. The World Cup On June 7, 2002 in Sapporo Dome in Sapporo, Japan, David Beckham was in the 2002 world cup. The world cup takes place every 4 years. The teams that were playing were England vs. Argentina. The same teams were in the 1998 world cup but in that cup England lost because Beckham got a red card and Beckham got kicked out of the game. England lost 4-3. In 2002 David Beckham had a broken left foot 2 months before which effected his play. David had the ball but an Argentina player knocked him over he was sure it would be a foul but the referee didn't see it. Another England player got tripped and David took the penalty kick. He kicked the ball as hard as he could and he scored and that goal was enough to win the 2002 world cup! That was the only goal of the game. England had won the 2002 world cup! David Beckham was on England when he won The World Cup This is the Sapporo dome were the 2002 world cup took place. Programs He Is Involved In David Beckham has an academy called the David Beckham Academy. The David Beckham Academy is for kids 8 to 15 years old. They teach kids the rules and skills of soccer or they teach a certain position that they want to learn. David Beckham opened the first David Beckham Academy on November 28th, 2005. This is the sign for the David Beckham Academy This is David Beckham teaching his students at the academy David Beckham has a long-standing relationship with UNICEF. UNICEF stands for united nations international children’s emergency fund. David and other players raised over 1.2 million pounds for Asian tsunami victims. David started playing professional soccer in 1991. In 1996 he scored a goal from middle field and that's when he became very well known. He is one of the world’s most successful athletes.
