Summer family Camp JUNE 16–22, 2013 in FOREST CENTER BRENT ELDRIDGE SPEAKER JULY 14–20, 2013 MIKE ERRE SPEAKER Mike Erre’s life experiences have given him a tenderness that deepens his Bible teaching and reaches the hearts of his listeners. He can dig into the heart of the matter, while still managing to bring laughter to the surface. He grew up near Columbus, Ohio, in a little town called Lexington. Mike moved to Southern California in 1997 to pursue an M.A. in philosophy of religion and ethics through Talbot School of Theology. He has served in a number of churches: First Brent Eldridge joined the staff of First Baptist Church of Lakewood in July of 2008. As Lead Pastor, Brent oversees the Executive Team of Pastors who in Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, Mariners Church and Rock Harbor Church. Mike has published four books: The Jesus of Suburbia, Why Guys Need God, turn gives leadership to all areas of Lakewood’s ministry. His passions include strategic planning, leadership development, evangelism and teaching. Brent Death By Church, and Why the Bible Matters. He has been an adjunct professor at Biola University and has spoken at many different colleges, conferences is a frequent conference speaker and author of Team: Six Essentials for Building a Productive Team, recently released from Wipf and Stock Publishers. JUNE 23–29, 2013 ALBERT TATE SPEAKER Albert Tate is an eleven-year veteran who has taught and served in variety of strategic pastoral leadership positions. At the age of five, they moved to California near the Pasadena area. He was raised in a devout Catholic family, and attended 12 years of Catholic school. Dennis placed his personal faith in Jesus Christ after hearing the gospel at Forest Home Christian Conference Center in 1972. JUNE 30–JULY 6, 2013 REED JOLLEY SPEAKER JULY 28–AUGUST 3, 2013 ERIK THOENNES SPEAKER Erik Thoennes is an amazing Bible teacher, with an engaging presence and practical applications for daily living. He is personable and passionate about learning to love and glorify Christ each day and helping others to do the same. He’s amazed that God saved him as a boy in Connecticut. He is blessed by his wife Donna, who has been a faithful ministry partner since 1989. Together, they adopted their daughter Caroline from Taiwan. Erik is a pastor at Grace Evangelical Free Church and an Associate Professor of Theology at Biola University where his love for people and desire to teach them the Bible is Reed Jolley, a graduate of Westmont College and Denver Seminary, is a gifted speaker and writer who serves as pastor of Santa Barbara Community Church. quenched. JULY 7–13, 2013 MATTHEW CORK SPEAKER Matthew Cork is an energetic speaker with an overflowing heart for the “least of these.” When Matthew brings God’s Word to life, he always finds a way to make the lessons go home with you, where you can live out biblical truth in practical ways. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Azusa Pacific University and a master’s degree in pastoral studies from Azusa Pacific University. He is currently lead pastor of Yorba Linda Friends Church. In 2007, on a trip to India, Matthew saw firsthand the plight of the Dalit people and the impact education can have on improving their lives. Since then, Friends Church has launched a new vision called Global Freedom and has been instrumental in building a large number of Education Centers throughout India. AUGUST 4–10, 2013 BOB KRANING SPEAKER Bob Kraning was associated with Forest Home ministries for 22 years. He served as Executive Director from 1974 to 1988, and in that capacity spoke at conferences and conventions across the United States and around the world. He is a past President of Christian Camping International, USA division. Bob is an excellent communicator of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His own love for the Lord and his excitement over the Word shows equally from his platform presentations, his personal counseling, and his private life. Bob and his wife, Carol, were married in 1957. Jodi is a vibrant Bible teacher and adds practical application to her teaching though her transparency and down to earth presentation. Sue, WOMEN’S SOLITUDE RETREAT MANDIE PINTO MUSICIAN Mandie was born and raised in Southern California. At the age of eight she began taking piano lessons and subsequently ventured into voice training. At the age of 14, she felt the call to minister through music. Since then she has independently recorded and released six solo albums in the last 15 years. Mandie is currently the Worship Team Leader at Real Life Church in Santa Clarita, California.
