Excel Certified Eye-Bolts  A Safe Safer r Liftin Lifting g Rin Ring g from from Ex Excel cel for Symons® 7FT Head Assemblies Excel Makes Major Design & Strength Improvements Introducing the new Excel Eye-Bolt specifically engineered for the Symons® 7FT Cone Crusher Crusher.. Manufactured using swivel hoist rings, the new Excel Eye-Bolts are certified cer tified to handle the special loads of a head and shaft as they are maneuvered for various maintenance procedures. When lifting from an angle, this design is much safer than the previous technology typically offered on the market today. • Certified Load Rating • 5 to 1 Safety Factor for Designed Loads • Swivel Hoist Ring Talk to your Excel Crusher Parts Expert for more information  XL-1896-8101-SC  XL-1896-810 1-SC  XL-1896-9051  XL-1896-905 1 Conventional  Eye-Bolt Design Excel Improved  Eye-Bolt Design Symons® and Gyradisc® are marks of Metso Corporation or its affiliates. As with all mechanical devices, regular inspection for wear and strict adherence to use instruction is necessary to prevent misuse failure. • Despite the 5:1 safety factor, NEVER EXCEED THE RATED LOAD CAPACITY. This safety margin is needed in case of misuse, which could drastically lower load capacity. • Tensile strength of parent material should be above 80,000 PSI to achieve full l oad rating. For weaker material, consider through-hole mounting with a nut and washer on the other side. • Tighten hex nut so that ring's thrust surface is fully seated on mating part. Torque to 1050 ft-lbs. and periodically check for loosening. • AVOID SHOCK LOADING. Always lift gradually. Repeatmagnetic particle inspection if shock loading ever occurs. •  After installation, always check that ring rotates and pivots freely in all directions. CORRECT INCORRECT IMPORTANT! The force on each hoist ring is not just the total weight divided by the number of hoist rings. The force will be greater at lower lift angles. Make sure load is evenly distributed. See below. Formula with example data: F = W/N sin A  Safe Unsafe Fig. 1  A = 65 F = 4000 / 4 sin65 F = Force on each hoist ring  W = Total weight = 4000 lbs. N = Number of hoist rings = 4  A  = Lifting angle Fig. 2 = 1103 lbs.  A = 14 F = 4000 / 4 sin14 = 4134 lbs.
