Team Size : 15 Description: This project has been developing for Capital One Financial Services. Capital one financial having lakhs of customers in different business like life insurance, annuity, banking, financial and manufacturing areas. Capital one financial setup the centers in USA, UK and CANADA to support to their customers. Due to day to day business transactional processing thousands of applications are filling and thousands of checks and DD’s transaction is happening. This data is moved to the Database. This processing is Transactional Processing. We are designing the dataware house and we are moving this business transactional data to dataware house. Responsibilities: • • • • • • • • •
Extensively involved in Data Extraction, Transformation and Loading (ETL process) from Source to target systems using Informatica. Performed data cleansing and transformation using Informatica. Worked extensively with Designer tools like Source Analyzer, warehouse Designer, Transformation Developer, Mapping and Mapplet Designers. Created data mappings to extract data from different source files, transform the data using Filter, Update Strategy, Aggregator, Expression, Joiner Transformations and then loaded into data warehouse. Implemented Slowly Changing dimension type2 methodology for accessing the full history of accounts and transaction information. Used Update Strategy Transformation to update the Target Dimension tables, type2 updates where we insert the new record and update the old record in the target so we can track the changes in the future. Developed various mapplets that were then included into the mappings. Used Workflow Manager to read data from sources, and write data to target databases and manage sessions. Review of the mappings.

Description: This is Bangalore based food supplier receives transactional information from the Shopping marts located at several parts of India. All this information is moved in to 3 data marts through Informatica Power Center 7.1 into an Oracle database. The client makes use of the OLAP technology to maintain information at the warehouse level. Reports are taken out of the three data marts using Cognos Impromptu Administrator and Power Play. The information out of these reports are taken to analyze the business as well as the employees (HR) information. The company is planning to expand itself by placing several new branches all over the country. It expects to make use of the information to analyze and expand the business. Responsibilities: • • • • • •
Worked on Informatica Designer Tool’s components – Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer, Transformation Developer, Mapping Designer and Mapplet Designer. Involved in the development of Informatica mappings and also tuned for better performance. In the Mappings most of the Transformations were used like the Source Qualifier, Expression, Filter, Aggregator, Look Up, Update, and joiner, Sequence Generator, Sorter, Rank and Router. Used Unconnected Look Ups with the combination of Update Strategy to implement Type 2 Warehouse. Lookup tables were implemented at the staging level for the faster response time of Lookups. Extensively used Informatica’s Workflow Manager & Workflow Monitor tools to Load data from MS SQL Server , Oracle OLTP sources into the Target Oracle 9i Data Ware House. Applied event wait and even raise objects along with the email objects from error notification information.

Project #3 Title : Rubbermaid Retail Data Mart Client : Rubbermaid, USA Role : ETL Developer Team Size : 12 Description: Rubbermaid designs and manufactures storage and organization solutions for homes across the globe. Products range from kitchen utensils to food storage etc. The scope of this project was to Extract, Validate and Load the Data Mart for Retail and Sales Analysis. Informatica is used as the ETL Tool to Extract, Transform and Load the data. Data is available in the form of flat files and from Oracle also.

Worked as an ETL Mapping developer. Extensively used various transformations like Aggregator, Lookup, Expression, Router and Filter Transformations. Developed various worklets that were then included into the workflows. Tuned and tested the mapping to perform better using different logic’s to provide maximum efficiency. Review of the mappings.
