What is Moodle?Moodle is a Virtual Learning Environment that is used byeducators to:1. Put online material for students to access2. Engage students with online learning material3. Complement traditional classroom learning with online activities: • Forums • Embedded video • Web 2.0 interactivity3. Monitor students’ online work and to hold students accountable to the teacher/facilitator/lecturer4. Get students to increase their Student Learning Time (SLT) by spending time learning online 3. Why use Moodle?Every educator worth his or her salt should give Moodlea try for these reasons:1. Moodle allows you to extend your classtime to after- school-hours• Homework can be given and monitored by the lecturer• Homework, whether done or not done can be monitored2. The Web is the natural environment for Generation Y & Z (the Facebook generation of youth) and is the environment of choice to engage students in3. With Moodle you can get feedback from students and you can interact with them through comments and opinions. 4. (a) Logging in to http://scm.moodurian.com Key in your username and password 7. (b) Editing your account profile To EDIT your account details, click on your username 8. Enter your new password 2. To see your password text, check this box 3. Enter your email address (Yahoo, Gmail, hotm ail, stamford.edu.my ) 5. To save your profileinformation, click 4. Try Collapsed Weeks, you can also change the number of weeks (duration) of the course and the Start and End date of the course 2. Enter an Enrolment key (password), e.g., 123 Students must use this key to enrol in your course.3. Save your changes 12. (c) Setup a basic course 1. Click on Living Skills to enter your Course2.
